Two positions are avaliable:
Position 1, code # 04 258: Serve as the lead GIS and data coordinator for the Wisconsin/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Floodplain Map Modernization Initiative. Ensure that spatial and engineering floodplain and planimetric data is obtained, organized, and maintained throughout the state. Work closely with FEMA to ensure DNR floodplain-mapping data and processes are adhering to FEMA guidelines and specifications. This position may be responsible for producing floodplain maps according to specific FEMA standards.
Position 2, code #05 002: Staff the Surface Water Assessment Team (SWAT) responsible for development of the Wisconsin’s Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). Serve as the lead GIS and data coordinator for Wisconsin’s TMDL initiative. Work closely with the SWAT coordinator and staff in both the Runoff Management and Water Quality Standards Sections. Work will include data collection for models; data preparation and formatting for modeling; assisting in model development; and summarizing data for report preparation.
