IS Resources Support Technician – Intermediate

Job Description: This position is a limited term employee (LTE) in the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program located at the Northeast Regional Headquarters of the Department of Natural Resources, in Green Bay. The position is classified as an IS Resources Support Technician – Intermediate and will work under the general direction of the RR Team Supervisor in the Green Bay office. The position is half time, approximately 20 hours per week, not to exceed 1,040 hours in a 12-month period. This position will be primarily involved with the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its application to the RR program by geo-locating contaminated sites and utilizing this information for a variety of users both within and outside of our agency.

Knowledge Required: Applicants should have solid work experience in computer software, specifically ArcView, ESRI software and spatial data capture/use methodologies. Work experience/familiarity with on-screen digitizing and the use of GPS units is required. The ability to read and interpret maps and use legal descriptions is required. Position requires good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in team environments.
