This position would develop spatial data to support Wisconsin/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Floodplain Map Modernization Initiative. Candidates would be expected to utilize a variety of geographic information systems software and methods to process and analyze spatial/tabular database information. They would assist analysts and other professional staff processing digital terrain data, creating and editing floodplain delineations, and geodatabases. Individuals would need to have knowledge and experience in using ESRI software products, and knowledge of basic relational database concepts. 30% Process, evaluate, and convert source data for incorporation into geographic information systems databases. 15% Develop, geo-reference, and integrate GIS data for spatial analysis. 15% Prepare, customize, and maintain geographic information metadata. 15% Work with team staff and program users to define and develop cartographic data and maps. 10% Operate and document GIS programs to automate data processing and analysis. 10% Assist other analysts and technical development staff developing automated programs for project production activities. 05% In a lead worker capacity, interact with other production staff contributing to project goals.
