Degree and area of specialization:
B.S. Degree, Preferrably in a health related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
One to two year experience in a research setting conducting research studies, research managment, and project management. Experience with computer applications such as Windows 2000, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint and experience with data management programs such as SPSS and Microsoft Excel required. SAS and Microsoft Access experience and the ability to trouble shoot basic computer technical problems and experience in handling large datasets preferred.
Principal duties:
Participate in new and ongoing research projects at the Center for Urban Population Health (CUPH). The CUPH is located at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Provide statistical analysis, data managment and other research assistance to investigators at the CUPH and the University of Wisconsin Medical School.
1. Support the coordination of grant projects at the CUPH, including reporting to the Project Director/Principal Investigator, scheduling, monitoring, overseeing and managing the project.
2. Submit regular reports and communicate with Institutional Review Boards as necessary for projects.
3. Conduct testing on data systems being developed and log defects discovered in the systems.
4. Write and edit user and administrative manuals for data systems being developed.
5. Use geocoding/GIS processes on specific data sets/projects.
6. Assist Center staff in obtaining research articles through UW Madison, UW Milwaukee, and Aurora Health Care libraries.
7. Clean datasets.
8. Conduct research literature review.
9. Interview research subjects.
10. Supervise manual data entry by support staff.
11. Perform other duties as appropriate.
