Job Summary: Support of GIS organization, GIS database, software, hardware, infrastructure, procedures and data archive. Implementation and adherence to best-known revision control practices. Support GIS quality assurance with cartographic decisions and routines used to insure data integrity. Maintain, recommend and implement approved hardware and software upgrades. Implement and inform, on a regular basis, new/changing technologies so the company and its customers are best served Work
Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of GIS, with an emphasis on ESRI tools. Knowledge and experience in GIS database creation and management. Fundamental knowledge of computer programming, with skills in Visual Basic preferred. Understanding of computer software, networking and hardware. Areas of expertise should included Arc Edit, Arc Grid, Arc Macro Language, Arc Map, 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst. Familiarity and/or expertise in import, manipulation and conversion of varying data formats. Familiarity with storage and manipulation of data coverage, shape file and Personal Geodatabase data models.
Educational Experience: BA/BS in GIS or Geography. Advanced degree (MA/MS) or equivalent real-world experience preferred.
Desired Work Experience: 3+ years of GIS experience with 1+ years of production experience using tools such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw.
Professional Qualities: Ability to work well with others, ability to lead teams using excellent corporate communication skills and prior project management experience with a proven track record of schedule completion preferred. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and communicate vertically and horizontally in both a written and oral manner.
