The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission has an immediate opening for an engineer or planner with an interest in transportation planning. The Commission conducts area-wide system level highway, transit, and airport planning for a seven county Region, and facility and corridor-level traffic engineering and transportation planning for local governments. Current work efforts include area-wide long range planning, corridor studies, traffic engineering studies, short range highway and transit planning studies, and travel demand model development and application. The primary responsibility of this position would be to provide technical support and analyses for ongoing planning and engineering studies.
A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in transportation engineering or planning is required for the position. Additional requirements for this position include proficiency in MS Excel, and/or other spreadsheet software, MS Access, and/or other database manipulation software, and a familiarity with ArcGIS 9.x, and/or other GIS software. The ideal candidate would also have an understanding of statistics and the use of statistical programs. Salary range is $28,000 to $46,000.
