Land Department Surveyor

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

An employee of this classification is responsible for organizing, directing, and supervising field operations and technical records preparation performed in the surveying and mapping of County tax forfeited land. Plan and schedule survey projects; assign and direct field and drafting staff on project work. Perform technical review of projects in progress and upon completion to insure accuracy and compliance with professional land survey standards and statuary requirements. Responds to requests and inquiries from the public and department staff regarding technical methods and project results. Assessing the administration of staff, budget, planning, legal and public relations functions of the division. The technical aspects of the work are performed independently in accordance with established land survey methods, practices and standards. The administrative functions of the division are performed under the general direction of the Deputy Land Commissioner.
