The State Cartographer’s Office has an immediate need to fill two part-time student hourly positions.

Gain marketable experience while working with cutting edge web technology and adynamic development team. Located in Science Hall on the UW campus, we offer aflexible work schedule of 10 to 20 hours per week in a relaxed environment, with morehours possible during the summer.

Coordinate Systems Technician : Assist with the development of a technicalpublication on Wisconsin coordinate reference systems.

  • Knowledge of Wisconsin coordinate systems (WISCRS, WCCS, WTM, UTM, SPC)
  • Some background in land surveying concepts and procedures
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Hourly wage based on level of experience

    • Outreach Production Assistant : Assist with the design and development ofmapping-related educational material through print and web media.

  • Basic ability to write and edit HTML code, including some knowledge of webscripting languages (PHP, Javascript) preferred
  • Graphic design skills very desirable
  • Comfortable researching and writing on geographic information technologies
