The Town of Menasha, located outside of Appleton, WI, is currently looking to hire a Planning Intern for this summer. The focus for this paid internship will be general planning. There will be opportunities to learn about zoning, comprehensive planning, community surveys, economic development, grants, ordinance development, GIS, and much more.
Job Description: The Town of Menasha is seeking a planning intern. The Town of Menasha is located in the Fox Cities area. This progressive community of 17,000 residents has seen substantial growth in recent years. The intern chosen for this paid position should have an interest in urban planning. This internship will be available for the summer. Work schedules are flexible and can be discussed during the interview.
Responsibilities: Assist in various planning functions with the Community Development. Director and Associate Planner. Experience may be gained in zoning, ‘smart growth’ comprehensive planning, grant application and administration, ordinance revisions, GIS, and/or others.
Qualifications: Applicants should be third or fourth year students of an undergraduate programor should be students of a graduate program in planning, public administration, political science,geography, urban and regional studies, or a related field, and have an interest in public sectoremployment.
