The State Cartographer’s Office has an immediate need to fill two part-time student hourly positions.
Gain marketable experience while working with cutting edge web technology and a dynamic team. Located in Science Hall on the UW campus, we offer a flexible work schedule of 10-20 hours per week in a relaxed environment, with more hours possible during the summer.
We need technically-savvy students to assist with the design and development of mapping-related educational material through print and web media. If you have one or more of the following skills, let’s talk!
- Basic ability to write and edit HTML code
- Some knowledge of web scripting languages (PHP, JavaScript) and/or databases
- An understanding of mapping and GIS concepts, tools, and techniques
- Comfortable researching and writing on geographic information technologies
Requirements:
- Must be a UW student enrolled for summer classes, and/or enrolled for the Fall 2007 semester
- Preference is given to applicants who will graduate no earlier than May 2008
