The Robinson Map Library and the WI State Cartographer’s Office are working together on a project that will create a searchable collection of digital historic aerial photograph indexes. We are looking for a talented individual to assist with this project.
This project will focus on digitizing the Map Library’s paper aerial photo indexes to make them searchable and viewable online via the WI Catalog of Aerial Photography.
Position Information
Duration: Summer, with possibility of extending into the Fall 2007 semester
Employer: The position will be funded by the Robinson Map Library but the project duties will take place in Map Library and the State Cartographer’s Office
This student hourly position will include the following duties:
- Map scanning
- Metadata design and creation
- Work with State Cartographer’s Office website and relevant databases
- Search capability design and implementation
Requirements:
- Must be a UW student enrolled in summer courses, and/or enrolled for the
Fall 2007 semester
- Time commitment is 15-20 hours per week (Summer 2007)
Pay rate: $9.00 to $11.00/hour based on experience
