Responsibilities include:
• Research and acquire geographic information systems (GIS) data from state and local agencies which includes negotiating legal use agreements and performing QA/QC of the collected data
• Research availability and collect parcel level boundary files and other GIS boundary layers from state and local agencies
• Negotiate legal use agreements with state and local agencies where necessary
• Enter data collection information into database and assist the project manager in producing status reports and maps
• Respond to queries by sales staff regarding the availability of GIS data from external sources
• Aide in archiving GIS data layers on servers
Qualifications:
• Must be proficient in a number of computer applications, but must specifically possess software skills; knowledge of ESRI products, MS Office, and Salesforce is preferred.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to contact units of government and negotiate uses.
• Must be extremely familiar with spatial and attribute data and have experience reviewing GIS data for completeness and accuracy.
• Provides good customer service, is goal oriented, self-motivated and has excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Possess high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
