Job Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Geographic Information Officer, the Enterprise GIS Technical Architect will support high priority Enterprise initiatives and is accountable for maintaining a high level of customer service and support to employees of all levels and in multiple agencies.
The primary responsibility of this position is to work with all agencies and the DET division bureaus in the planning, coordination, implementation, management and tracking of the state’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The position will work closely with the Bureau of Infrastructure Support staff regarding GIS issues along with any other Divisional or Agency bureaus. The position will schedule, lead and facilitate meetings regarding GIS integration across the enterprise.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate for this position will have experience with GIS software, hardware, development, and implementation (such as ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, IIS, Java, client-server), project management skills, and experience designing and/or modifying infrastructure architectures, including complex GIS Systems. This position will be expected to have experience in design and integration of business applications into enterprise IT infrastructures and experience and knowledge working with other IT management areas using standard IT project management methodologies. This position requires technical writing stills and knowledge of MS office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio. This position requires proven customer service skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication and team skills.
