Job Duties:
This federally funded position will serve as one of several lead Go FEMA guidelines and specifications. The GIS Project Leads work closely with the Map Modernization GIS Manager and Floodplain Engineers located within the Bureau of Watershed Management’s Floodplain Management program.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
GIS products, specifically ArcView 3,2, ArcGIS 8.x, Spatial Analyst, and 3D Analyst as they apply to development of digital floodplain maps; geodatabase data models and applying them to water related applications; ArcIMS and Oracle databases; FEMA’s digital floodplain mapping standards and the data quality assurance/quality checking requirements for flood studies and mapping. Knowledge of training skills, group dynamics, dispute resolution, and individual motivation. Experience with being a lead worker for GIS mapping projects.
