Position Requirements:
B.S. or B.A. in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, orother related fields. The candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience and education in GIS.Analysts must have excellent written and oral communication skills. The employee must be experienced ingeodatabase development and programming.Employee must have extensive knowledge of ArcView, ArcGIS, and ArcInfo. Knowledge in GRASS,AutoCAD, ERDAS, or MicroStation is beneficial.
Additional Qualities – Knowledge in ArcIMS, ArcSDE, AML, ArcObjects, VB, VB.Net, Java, Visio,Oracle, SQL will all be considered.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for working on multiple short-term and long-term GIS projects. Employee will assist inproject development and staff supervision. Projects may include geodatabase development, programming,research, geocoding, rectification, data capture, editing, data conversions, map production, web-mapdesign, and other assigned tasks. Employee must be able to work independently, will be required to trainstaff, and will have extensive contact with clients. Analysts must maintain the highest levels ofprofessional conduct and work quality. Employee will also be responsible for organization of data andextensive documentation of work.
Other Requirements – Analysts must be highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the jobdone. Some travel may be required for client training, marketing, and conferences. Must maintain highknowledge in the GIS field.
